From then on, when a zombie appeared I'd either put a potato mine at the end of the lane, or else put a shooter protected by a wall-nut, with some room behind for another sunflower or two, and room between for a chomper. I started by putting 2 sunflowers in the SAME lane, and when the first zombie appeared I put a potato mine at the end of the lane he was on and ignored him and continued planting sunflowers in that same lane, so that I had 4 of them. What made it really easy was using the potato mines which are only 25 points and don't get hit by the flying peas (but do explode when the first zombie steps on them and recharge slowly, so not a long term solution). Today I started with a new profile, and when I unlocked the minigames I played ZomBotany with what I had at the moment. That might make it easier to set up a basic defense, then get more sunflowers and make the defense really strong. I bet I could put garlic in the far right column, in the top or bottom lane (or both) and then put all my sunflowers in the lane(s) with the garlic, with no shooters or walnuts. I think I'm going to see if garlic is useful in this minigame. Torch wood planted in front of a pea shooter will turn the peas into fire balls, increasing the damage. Snow peas and corn will slow the zombies down, and corn is as cheap as pea shooters so they make a great combination behind a walnut, cheaper than the chompers. The spikes go at the far right they are pretty cheap and can't be eaten (some of the really hard zombies can destroy them but none of those are in this minigame). Plant them in column 1 or 2 of an empty lane to buy yourself time to put something else there later. The potato mines are great at the very beginning because they are cheap. Now if you have more options than those 5 basic plants, I recommend snow peas, torch wood, corn, potato mines, and/or spikes.
After I had one sunflower in each lane, and a walnut and at least one pea shooter in each lane, I started adding the chompers right behind the walnuts (even if it meant digging up a pea shooter).
I ended up with two pea shooters behind most of my walnuts for a while, because the squash wasn't recharging fast enough and I didn't have enough sun points to buy chompers. Wait until the walnut head reaches your own walnut, and plant the squash right where he's standing, or the chomper can go between the pea shooter and the walnut. If a walnut head zombie appears, you will need either a squash or chomper. Now, each time a zombie appears in an empty lane, look at your sun points and decide whether to plant a pea shooter and walnut combo, or wait for the zombie to almost reach the left side and plant a squash right in front of him (which gives you time to plant a sunflower behind a pea shooter. As soon as you have enough sun points, put a small walnut in that lane in column 4. Wait for the first zombie to appear, and put a pea shooter in the same lane, in column 2. Plant one sunflower immediately, in column 1. Here's how I did it, using sunflowers, pea shooters, walnuts (the small ones), chomper, and squash. Ok, I just played one game of ZomBotany, with NO rake, and only using 5 fairly basic types of plants. Fill in column 3 with what looks interesting as you have sun points for it. If a walnut is damaged, replace it, or put a second walnut in front of it.Ħ. Repeat until every lane has a sunflower, pea shooter, and walnut in it. Then put the pea shooter in the lane that the next zombie shows in.
If you have enough sun points for another pea shooter plus walnut, plant a third sunflower in column 1 first. As soon as you have enough sun points, put a walnut in column 4 or 5 of that lane.Ĥ. When the first zombie (that won't get zapped by the rake) shows up, put a peashooter in column 2 of the lane the zombie is one. If you bought a rake from Dave, place a second sunflower in column 1, because the first zombie will get zapped by the rake.ģ. General idea, numbering the leftmost column #1, sunflowers in column 1, pea shooters in column 2, walnuts in column 4, whatever else looks good that is on hand fills in column 3 later - much later.ġ. Going by memory (my son wants me to come NOW - so going topside for several hours): Can you list them? I can give you a strategy to try. I've forgotten which plants a beginner has available in the first ZomBotany minigame.
